Two-layer floorboards mean that the board is made of several layers of wood.
The top layer, known as the lamella, is typically made of solid wood, most commonly oak. The base is usually composed of softwood or multi-layer plywood; although occasionally, it can also consist of multiple layers of hardwood.
All the layers are bonded together in such a way that each one is perpendicular to the layer on either side, resulting in a board that is highly resistant to twisting, stretching, or shrinking.
Due to their high stability, two-layer boards can be installed on top of heated floors.
They are also available in larger sizes, both in board width and length.
Costs starting from 26 EUR/sq.m. + VAT. The price varies depending on the type of surface finish, the size and volume of the parquet boards.
